2 weeks ago, Rockstar Games launched, the most awaited game of the year on PC, Red Dead Redemption 2 more than a year after its initial release on Playstation 4 and Xbox One. A big moment for celebration to the game developers turned out sour quickly after the launch, when the players ran into the game bugs resulting game crashing. These issues has been acknowledged by Rockstar and the developers are seem to be working to resolve it.
Rockstar has apologized in an statement posted on its Official Website for the poor performance including framerate dropping, misuse of PC resources and stuttering issues experienced by few Players.
“Over the past week, we have been working as quickly as possible to address issues that have impacted the launch of the PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2” Rockstar said.
Then added,“As a result, we have already identified and resolved a number of these issues by deploying fixes to the Rockstar Games Launcher and some to the game itself.”
Rockstar didn’t released the game on Steam at the same time as on its own Launcher. Those who wait till December, will be able to buy it on steam and get fewer issues than than those of on its own launcher.
“However, we are aware that a small number of Red Dead Redemption 2 players are still experiencing some ongoing problems with the game stuttering,” the studio continued. “We believe this is due to unforeseen issues related to specific combinations of Nvidia graphics drivers, Nvidia GPU cards, and certain CPU [cards.]”
Rockstar will continue addressing the identified issues and may consider help from Nvidia. For those who have been playing this game in this condition and through the rest of this holiday season, Rockstar will be giving an apology gift “Red Dead Redemption Online” care package which includes provisions, ammunition, and the Prieto Poncho.
Red Dead Redemption is the first game in its series which has released on PC. Neither Red Dead Redemption nor Red Dead Revolver which was released 15 years ago didn’t released on PC. Although many games from Grand Theft Auto series are available on PC.
